Dearly Beloved,

It has been a very busy week here at the church. The Romeo & Juliet performances by the students of Classical Scholars have been filled to overflowing all week long. It was such a delight to watch our “All Saints” performance last Sunday afternoon. As you know, Rebekah Byrd is the director for the yearly Shakespeare performances and she is to be commended for all her hard work and expertise in giving our young people and the students of Classical Scholars an outlet for their artistic proclivities! Bravo! And congratulations to all the youth who were in the play. You all were outstanding! The last performance is today at 2:00 p.m.

Take Down That Wall!
We will move on with the next phase of our expansion project tomorrow afternoon by having a “Take Down That Wall” party following our 11:00 a.m. Holy Communion. Bring your pry bars, hammers, and work gloves as we begin to pull the sheetrock off the north wall of the parish hall. We will have a potluck lunch, so bring a dish to share. We will provide the meat, both beef and chicken. I am also asking, for those who are physically able, to stick around after the party and we will get some serious demo done.

Other Construction News
The new offices are primarily finished. We are getting things arranged in there and there are several “punch list” items that need to be resolved, such as handicap rails in the bathroom, before we can have our final inspection. We will begin taking estimates from painters for painting our buildings and will also focus on getting our landscaping squared away and spruced up for the spring.

Picture Directory
We will take our last set of pictures tomorrow for our parish picture directory. If you have not had your picture taken yet, Shelly Wyatt will be on hand to take it.

Ministry Intern
Tomorrow, Mr. Stephen Miller, who is a Candidate for Holy Orders in our Diocese, will begin a part-time internship here at All Saints, in preparation for his final interviews for ordination. Stephen is a member of St. Matthew’s Church in Weaverville, where his father, the Rev. Greg Miller is the rector. Be sure to give a hearty All Saints welcome him and his family as they spend time with us.

Stripping & Waxing
Classical Scholars will be on winter break this week, so our flooring maintenance company will be stripping and waxing the floors in Simcox Hall and the entryway into our buildings. Depending upon when particular areas are being worked on, we may have to use alternate entrances into the buildings. Please watch for that when you come here this coming week.

Vestry Meeting
The Vestry meets this coming Monday night, February 11 at 6:30 p.m. This will be the very first time we will use the new conference room in the office wing.

Peter Zwingert
Peter has finished his class work at the U.S. Navy’s Nuclear Power Training Command in Goose Creek, SC. The only thing remaining is the Comprehensive Exam on Tuesday, February 12. He is asking for your prayers as he and his classmates take this particularly demanding exam. Upon successful completion of the exam, his graduation will be next Friday, February 15.

That is about it for this week and, as usual, some more announcements are below. Remember to keep on praying for one another and also for those for whom no one else will pray this day.

Blessings,
Fr. Erich
