Dearly Beloved,This week I am going to be brief just to bring you “up to speed” on what is happening here at the church. Parish PicnicWe want to extend our thanks to Sally and Glen Blackburn for hosting our annual parish picnic last Sunday. It was a nice relaxing time as we enjoyed one another’s company, ate some hamburgers and hot dogs, and, of course, enjoyed the beautiful vistas surrounding the Blackburn residence upon on the ridge above Fletcher. Construction UpdateThere has been an amazing amount of work that has transpired over the past week on our office addition. The big work has been the installation of roof trusses and most of the plywood sheathing is up on the exterior walls. Bob and Jim Brooks are in the process of laying the crosspieces on the roof trusses to prepare for the installation of the roof, as you can see in the picture above. Check out all the pictures from the past week by clicking here. News of NoteDennis Houghtaling was hospitalized on Tuesday for a rapid heart rate. The doctors have discovered an issue with his thyroid and will be treating him medically to attempt to conquer the problem. Dennis was home yesterday and expects to be in church on Sunday! Please pray that this issue may be resolved quickly. Summer Break from ClassesThis week marks our last adult classes for the summer. In Adult Sunday School this weekend, we will discuss the Book of Ruth. Next Tuesday, June 19, our Book Study will finish discussing the book Cain, which we have been reading. Please finish reading the book if you have not already done so. On Wednesday night, June 20, in Bible Study, we will complete the Book of the Prophet Amos. Come on out and join us as we discuss Amos’ visions that called him to his prophetic ministry. Fathers’ DayThis coming Sunday is Fathers’ Day. The Ladies of the parish are going to whip up some extra special food for us this Sunday. I am understanding that London Broil will be served up, along with some tasty, spicy Bloody Marys. Guys, you don’t want to miss this lunch! In fact, I don’t think anyone should miss it! Craft Market MeetingThe next Craft Market meeting is scheduled for this coming Monday, June 18 at 9:30 a.m. All are welcome to join in helping plan for this event. All Saints Altar Guild Quarterly MeetingThe Altar Guild will meet on Saturday, June 23, at 9:45 a.m. We will have Holy Communion, followed by a short meeting. A fellowship luncheon will be served after the meeting. This would be the perfect time to come out and see if you might be interested in joining the Altar or Flower Guild. Please see Alice Owen and let her know you will be coming. Well, that is all the news that you need to know this week. Please remember to keep praying for one another. Your prayer lists are accessed by clicking here. See you all in church. Blessings,Fr. Erich
