Dearly Beloved,

Summer certainly has arrived and many of our classes have wound down. And yet, other things are going on and will be happening so keep on reading!

Summer Youth Wednesdays
Our Summer Youth Wednesday program returns beginning July 5, 2017 and will run each Wednesday during the month – July 5, 12, 19, and 26. Our theme this year is Missions (Acts 1:8). As part of our program, we will be following our senior youth, Ethan Byrd, on his summer mission trip to Honduras. We will gather each Wednesday at the church beginning at 5:30 p.m. Dinner will be provided. These Wednesdays are always great fun! All youth of All Saints are encouraged to participate. We also welcome the children of family and friends of All Saints, so spread the word. And remember, as always, we love having the “young at heart” join us as well! Please see Rebekah Byrd or Cynthia Hensley for more information.

News of Note
Bonnie Wright had successful surgery to remove the cancerous mass from her bowel. She is recuperating at Park Ridge Hospital and expects to return home at the beginning of the week. Please continue to keep her in your prayers for a speedy recovery.

Rest in Peace
Dick Hunter, longtime member here at All Saints, died last Saturday. Dick had been suffering with Alzheimer’s Disease for many years. Please keep his wife Florence in your prayers as she deals with the loss of her husband. Dick’s body has been sent to Wake Forest Medical School and will be returned after it is cremated. He will be buried in our cemetery. We will let you know when that is to occur. Rest eternal grant unto him, O Lord. May light perpetual shine upon him. Amen.

Bible Study
We finished our study of the Book of Jonah this past Wednesday. We will take a break from Bible Study for the summer and return on September 13 to study St. Paul’s Letter to the Romans. We will still gather throughout the summer for Holy Communion and Fellowship Dinner on Wednesday nights.

Tuesday Book Study
We also finished our latest book Heaven Breaks In this past week. Tuesday Book Study will return on September 12 with C.S. Lewis’ Screwtape Letters.

Adult Sunday School
Adult Sunday School is also on hiatus for the remainder of the summer. This class will return on September 10.

Men’s Baseball Night
Our annual manly pilgrimage to watch the Asheville Tourists play will be on July 17. We will leave the church parking lot at 6:00 p.m. and the game will begin at 7:05 p.m. Let me know if you plan to be there.

Travel Prayers

Please remember to put your name on the travel prayer list as you prepare to travel this summer. This way we can pray for your safe return to us—and we can keep track of you!

That is about it this week. Don’t forget that tomorrow, June 24, is St. John the Baptist Day and we will have Holy Communion at 12 Noon celebrating the Forerunner for our Savior Jesus Christ.

Blessings and see you in church!
Fr. Erich
