Dearly Beloved,
This is a quick email this week just to remind of you of important events this weekend and to catch you up on a few other things.
Annual Craft Market
Our annual Craft Market is scheduled for tomorrow, October 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., rain or shine! There will be over 25 vendors, a bake shop, BBQ, and crafting demonstrations. The Big Basket Raffle will also be happening and we will go live on Facebook at 2:00 p.m. tomorrow as the lucky winners are drawn. Please come out to support our Ladies of All Saints in this singular event of the year. See you tomorrow!
Steve Miller’s Ordination
Just a reminder that Steve’s ordination to Sacred Order of Deacons is also on tap for tomorrow. It begins at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Church, 812 Reems Creek Rd., Weaverville, NC 28787.
Confirmations & Receptions
Bishop Grundorf will be with us this Sunday, October 20, for his Episcopal Visitation. He will confirm and receive new members and will also let us know what is happening in our diocese and national church during Sunday School time. Be sure to be here to welcome him and also to support and congratulate the confirmands and our new members.
Petty Officer Zwingert
As most you know, Kathy and I were in Charleston
last weekend for our son Peter’s graduation from the Nuclear Prototype Training Unit of the US Navy’s Nuclear Power Program. He is now qualified to run nuclear reactors on our Navy’s warships. The training for the nuclear program is considered the most rigorous and academically challenging program in the US military. To say Kathy and I are proud of him would be an understatement! He has not received orders yet for his assignment to the fleet but we will keep you up-to-date. Here he is receiving his diploma from his commander.
St. Timothy’s Porch
Our new picnic pavilion is nearly complete and is now fully usable. A few items need to be completed, such as guttering and electrical. The shelter will be painted to match our buildings but we must wait 30 days for the pressure treated timbers to dry before that can be accomplished. I am so looking forward to being able to use this new space.
News of Note
Norm Johnson had carotid artery surgery this past Tuesday. He came through the surgery with flying colors. He went home on Wednesday and is resting comfortably and his family is with him. Please continue your prayers for a speedy recovery that we night soon see him back in church, praising and glorifying God!
Now you know what you need to know for the moment. I look forward to seeing all of you this weekend.
Blessings,
Fr. Erich
