Dearly Beloved,

We had a wonderful time yesterday with our Pentecost Party during the Sunday School time between our services. It was good to see so many of you stick around and/or come early enjoying fellowship with one another, eating some delicious breakfast food, and learning a little bit more about Absolution and how that plays out in our lives. I have included a few pictures of our gathering below.

Today is Memorial Day, when we remember those who have laid down their lives for our country and our freedoms. Won’t you take a moment and remember, reflect, and pray for them? A quick way to do so is to use this prayer from our prayerbook (p. 42):

  • ALMIGHTY God, our heavenly Father, in whose hands are the living and the dead; We give thee thanks for all those thy servants who have laid down their lives in the service of our country. Grant to them thy mercy and the light of thy presence, that the good work which thou hast begun in them may be perfected; through Jesus Christ thy Son our Lord. Amen.

Blessings,

Fr. Erich

Tuesday Bible Study

The Tuesday morning Bible Study continues looking at the Epistles of St. John. Please read First John, Chapter 4 for class this week.

A Bible Study on Handel’s Messiah

Our Wednesday evening Bible Study, inspired by our study of the Book of the Prophet Isaiah, will continue as we look at the Scripture passages used in Handel’s work that highlight who Jesus is and what he came to do. Of course, because this is focused on the text of The Messiah, we will definitely be listening to some music too!

Come join us for this study which will last 2 or 3 more weeks before we take our summer break. This would be a great time for you to join us for just a few weeks at our Wednesday study. We will return to Isaiah’s book (Chapters 40-66) after the summer.
